Regional competition stage of the International program “Enactus”

On April 9, 2013 for the first time in the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics there was a regional competition stage of the International program on student entrepreneurship “Enactus”.  The organizer of the Enactus Moscow Cup 2013 on behalf of University was the General Management Department with support of Management Faculty.  Yana Butenko, Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor directly organized this competition.

It should be noted that the REU Enactus team firstly participated in such event. It has worthily presented the University on the competition.

The Academic Leaders of team are Yana Butenko and Sergey Starostin. The team members are Kseniya Malykh (captain), Aleksandr Bezyzvestnykh, Svetlana Gritsina, Dariya Karulina, Yana Kolomnikova, Vitaly Nikitenko and Maxim Yakovenko.

If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done

With this motto in February the most active and motivated on success children from the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics began to work. The team started working under the leadership of Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professors of the General Management Department Yana Butenko and Sergey Starostin. The team was faced by a serious problem:  not only to implement projects, but also to pass a way from idea formation to its realization in the limited time. The situation is complicated by the fact that the team took part for the first time in the International competition “Enactus”. Despite it in this season three projects were realized.

The first project was called “Teatron”. In the process of this project it has been conducted a series of training, which were attended by over 50 people. The partner agreements have been established with 5 theaters, 10 famous artists, as well as with 2 ecological organizations. The project prospect is the commercialization.

Workshop “Speech-management comprehension”

On April 2, 2013 in the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics the Workshop “Speech-management comprehension” took place with support of the Internet magazine of theatrical criticism “Teatron”. The Workshop held by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Actor of the Moscow Council Theater Valery Yaremenko and Ph.D. in Psychology, Strategic Planning Director of the Advertising agency «DA CREATIVE GROUP», business coach Vadim Matyushkin.

The purpose of carrying out event was the creation of opportunities to improve the practical skills of future managers and leaders through the improvement their oratory or speech-management.

Russian Round Table “Global challenges to management: Russian request for innovative development”

In honor of the 68th anniversary from the date of the Management Faculty foundation it was held the Russian Round Table devoted to the current trends and prospects of the Russian Management in the 21th century.

Famous scientists in the field of Economics attended the event. These scientists were representatives from leading Universities of country: the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, the State University of Management, the Voronezh State University, the Chelyabinsk State University, etc. Moreover, representatives of legislative bodies, business organizations (SAP and others) and non-governmental organizations (the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation and the Russian Managers Association) participated in the Round Table. Among members of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics it should be noted the presence of Chancellor, Professor V. Grishin; Head of the General Management Department, Professor V. Maslennikov; Associate Professor of the General Management Department Ya. Butenko and others.

Professional Creativity Day

The Professional Creativity Day passed at the Management Faculty of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. The organizer was the General Management Department. The event purpose is the forming the fundamentals of profession “Manager” from the first-year students through the using a gaming technology.

Competition consisted of two tasks. The first task was a presentation of managerial situation developing on the basis of tales. Students must present the fairy-tale characters as members of the subject-object relationship in the management; build their interaction and organize activities directed on the solving management problems. The main criteria for the first task assessment were an accuracy of reflected managerial situation, creative approach, quality of presentation material. The second task consisted in a team construction of building models under limited temporary conditions, as well as the presentation of received objects. The following criteria were considered by jury at the second task assessment: team work management skills; ability to distribution of the duties and accuracy of their performance; interpersonal communications establishment; ability to present the received product.
