Enactus Russian Cup 2014

From May 27, 2014 to May 28, 2014 at the President Hotel it has been conducted the Enactus Russian Cup 2014. Top 22 Russian teams took part in the semifinal, but only top 6 teams met in the final.

Among the jury members were representatives of major International and Russian companies such as Ernst & Young (E&Y), KPMG, Unilever, Coca Cola Hellenic, Promsvyazbank, New Square, Industrial Innovation, Russian Railways, etc., as well as a representative of the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship in Moscow Denis Knyazev.

During two days, a serious fight was waged; strong entrepreneurial projects were demonstrated. But despite a difficult choice, the best teams have been identified: bronze winner has become the Maikop State Technological University team; silver winner has been chosen the team from the Nizhny Novgorod Management Institute of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration; gold winner of the Enactus Russian Cup 2014 has been selected the team from the Sibai Institute of the Bashkir State University. This Bashkir teams in the fall of 2014 will represent Russia at the Enactus World Cup 2014 in Beijing. In this season, the victorious team presented the following ambitious projects:

European experience of university accreditation

On April 15, 2014, webinar “Evaluation of Universities in Western Europe: From Quality Assessment to Accreditation” has passed. The main speaker was Emeritus Professor from the University of Leuven (Belgium) Erik De Corte.

Professor Eric de Korte told about a quality management system (QMS) at the European universities, making the example of Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Great Britain and other European Union countries. Besides, he named and disclosed the essential and substantive characteristics of the university’s quality audit types. He also described the university accreditation process of educational programs.

Enactus Regional Competition 2014 in Moscow

April 3, 2014, significant event – Enactus Regional Competition 2014 – has passed at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. This event opened the regional competitions series, which will be held through all Russia.

Understanding the opportunities provided by the program, students show the increasing interest to project implementation. In this year, 14 teams from the leading universities in the Moscow region have already participated in competition. There were teams from: Lomonosov Moscow State University – MSU (Moscow), Plekhanov Russian University of Economics – REU (Moscow), Higher School of Economics – HSE (Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod), Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration – RANEPA (Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Kaluga, Vladimir), Bauman Moscow State Technical University – BMSTU (Moscow), National University of Science and Technology “MISIS” (Moscow), Moscow State University of Mechanical Engineering – MAMI (Moscow), Russian State Technological University – MATI (Moscow), Tula State University – TSU (Tula), Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology – MIPT (Dolgoprudny).

Student scientific problems

Academic Adviser of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Sergey Valentey and Associate Professor of the Department of Management Theory and Business Technologies of REU have discussed the student scientific problems in the 6th program release “About science”.

During the meeting, the issues about reduction of young scientists and decrease in interest to scientific activity among students were raised. The discussion concerning the reasons for such low interest in science at the majority of today’s students and solutions of this problem was conducted.

The following student scientific problems were identified: misunderstanding the impact of scientific activities on student future career, low level of their motivation, and insufficient knowledge among children about upcoming events.
