Year of continuous operations of 101 student teams from 43 Russian universities has finished by a remarkable event – Enactus Russian Cup 2016, which was held on 24 – 25 May. On the Enactus Russian Cup 2016, 19 strongest Russian teams met, which had passed a serious selection in 11 regional competitions (in Moscow, Moscow region, Tomsk, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Makhachkala).
The teams’ projects were evaluated by the jury comprised of successful entrepreneurs, leading business consultants and top-managers of International and Russian companies, such as HSBC Bank, Ernst & Young (E&Y), KPMG, Unilever, Coca Cola Hellenic, Russian Railways, and so forth.
In this year, Yana Butenko has been invited to be a member of the jury and coordinator of Red League. In this League there was competition among teams from Tomsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Cherkizovo, and Moscow. The League winners – team from the Tomsk State University (Tomsk) and team from the Nizhny Novgorod Management Institute of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (Nizhny Novgorod) – were honoured to present their projects in the super final.
In the super final, a serious fight was waged; strong entrepreneurial projects were demonstrated. Despite a difficult choice, the best teams have been identified: bronze winner has become the team from the Tomsk State University (Tomsk); silver winner has been chosen the team from the National University of Science and Technology “MISiS” (Moscow); gold winner of the Enactus Russian Cup 2016 has been selected the team from the Engineering and Technology Academy of the Southern Federal University (Taganrog). This team will represent Russia at the Enactus World Cup 2016 in Toronto, Canada in the autumn of 2016.
It should be noted that in spite of the event’s competitive spirit, the atmosphere was very friendly. Teams communicated with each other, shared experience, met business representatives and academic advisers. Thus, many participants had not only opportunity to take part in competition and show their projects, but also form a partnership with other teams and business representatives.
