In April issue (№ 31) of the newspaper “Plekhanovets”, which was founded in 1927, it has been published the article written by Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor Ya. Butenko “The first steps to success”. The REU Enactus team participation in the regional competition stage of the International program “Enactus” was reported in the article:

“On April 9, 2013 the regional competition stage of the International program “Enactus” has passed at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. This event is important for our university, because this year the REU Enactus team firstly participated in such event. In the competition also involved the teams from the Nizhny Novgorod branch, Krasnogorsk branch, Kaluga branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, as well as the Stolypin Volga Region Institute.

The jury members were the representatives of leading Russian and International companies who are the partners of “Enactus”: “KPMG”, “CocaCola Hellenic”, “PepsiCo”, “Ernst & Young”, “HSBC Bank” and others. The event was covered in the media: information partners were “Economic Newspaper” and the science journal “Innovation and investment”.

The academic leaders of team are Yana Butenko, Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor of the General Management Department. The team members are Kseniya Malykh (captain), Aleksandr Bezyzvestnykh, Svetlana Gritsina, Dariya Karulina, Yana Kolomnikova, Vitaly Nikitenko and Maxim Yakovenko.

Three projects were presented by our team:

  • “Teatron”. The aim of project is the offering opportunities to improve the practical skills of leader and manager through thematic trainings.
  • “Student’s crowdsourcing”. The project purpose is the development of youth entrepreneurship by means of providing affordable consulting services.
  • “Team”. The project goal is the creation of the competitive Enactus team with an effective management system. Within realization of this direction, the cross-cultural pilot project with Australia has been started.

The above-named projects are the part of the social, economic, environmental and international activities of University.

It is important to mention that the jury members and the Enactus Russia President S. Ravichev noted the team’s creative approach and the high level of event organization from the side of University. Moreover, they proposed the joint organization of the Russian stage of competition”.
